Five years ago today, Voxtrot released their first and only LP. It wasn’t what many people were expecting or hoping for, but I liked it. I still like it, and I feel I appreciate the lyrics and the themes of the songs more now than I did when it was first released (or maybe I appreciate them in different ways: “Easy” now reminds me of a totally different person and set of situations than it did when I first heard it).
I really think that people need to go back and re-listen to this album by itself because it’s a good album. Don’t listen to it with the expatiation of something just like their three EPs in mind. Just listen to it and enjoy it for what it is.
